Strolling around Tonomachi

Travel time:

Kakunodate is a castle town built in 1620 by Ashina Yoshikatsu, who ruled the area. A firebreak was built in the center of town, and this was the dividing line between Uchimachi (Samurai Town) and Tomachi (Commoners Town), where townspeople lived. Why not visit the storehouses, merchant houses, and historical sites of Tomachi, which tell the story of the town's prosperity and history over the past 400 years?
