About parking

● Cherry Blossom Avenue Parking Lot

Opening days: Open every day during the period Opening hours: 8:30-16:30 *Depending on the flowering situation, night hours from 16:30-22:00 will be implemented. Fees: Standard vehicles ¥500, medium-sized vehicles ¥1,000, large vehicles ¥3,000 *From Wednesday, April 15th to Thursday, April 30th, priority will be given to large buses, but depending on the congestion situation, standard vehicles may be mixed in.

● Temporary parking lot on Samurai Residence Street

Opening days: Open every day during the period. Opening hours: 8:30-16:30 *Depending on the flowering situation, night hours from 16:30-22:00 will be implemented. Price: Standard car (including motorcycle) ￥500

● Other free temporary parking (planned)

Kakunodate East Community Center, Ochiai Sports Park, JA Akita Obako Kakunodate General Branch (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays only)

● About bicycles and motorcycles

You can park your bicycle for free in the Sakuranamiki Parking Lot, but if it is crowded you may be asked to use the free temporary parking lot. Please use the Bukeyashiki Street temporary parking lot. Fee: 500 yen

About the on-demand transportation service “Yobunoru Kakunodate”

This is a shared transportation service that operates upon customer reservations. Reservations can be made via the dedicated website (TOHOKU MaaS) or by phone. In the city center and Nakagawa area, you can get on and off at any desired location within the free boarding and alighting zone. *During the Kakunodate Cherry Blossom Festival, some locations may be inaccessible due to traffic restrictions. Regarding the use of the Hinokinai River and Tamagawa Riverbed (Furushiro Bridge to Ochiai River Park)

• There will be no access restrictions.


• There are no restrictions on eating and drinking.


• Please be mindful of safety when using the facility.


• Please refrain from open flames.

About temporary toilets

In addition to the permanent toilets in the city, temporary toilets will be set up in the following locations between Wednesday, April 15th and Tuesday, May 5th (national holiday). Installation locations: Coming Soon!

For business owners → About opening a restaurant

(1) On private land, businesses that do not require a business license under the Food Sanitation Act, as well as food trucks and existing stores that have a business license under the Food Sanitation Act, can set up stalls within the scope of their licenses. (2) Temporary stores (so-called food stalls) that apply to operate in conjunction with an event on private land must obtain a store license from the public health center in accordance with the standards set forth in the Food Sanitation Act. (3) However, in both (1) and (2), temporary stores cannot be set up as before in places that are restricted by other laws and regulations, such as traditional buildings preservation districts and their adjacent areas.

Precautions when using drones

[Kakunodate Samurai Residence Street] Drone flights are prohibited as this area is designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. [Hinokinai River Embankment] Drone flights are prohibited over the cherry tree-lined avenue (Uchikawa Bridge to Unosaki Bridge) as it is a nationally designated scenic spot. Generally, no notification is required for flights over rivers, but if you plan to take off or land at Hinokinai River Cherry Tree Park (the same applies to Kojōyama Park and Ochiai Park), you will need to notify the Urban Planning Section of the Construction Division.
