Okariba ware, a tradition of the Satake clan
Update date: 2025/12/15(Mon)
According to the 21st head of the Satake Kita family, when the war subsided, he would lead his retainers and go hunting as far as present-day Semboku City, Misato Town, and Daisen City, which he governed. Okariba-yaki has a hearty yet delicate flavor, with meat and seasonal vegetables enhanced by sansho miso. This is a local dish full of historical romance that will have you thinking of the Satake Kita family’s outdoor activities as you savor it.
