About the Operating Organization

Our association operates with the goal of contributing to the preservation and development of local culture and the vitalization of the regional economy. We achieve this by leveraging the resources of Semboku City, including its tradition, culture, history, scenery, nature, industry, and technology, to promote the tourism business.

A Destination Management/Marketing Organization (DMO) is a corporation that acts as the steering body for tourism area development, adopting the viewpoint of “Destination Management”. This approach is intended to bring out the region’s earning power and foster a sense of pride and attachment to the area.

A DMO works in collaboration with various stakeholders to formulate strategies based on a clear concept for sustainable tourism development, and is equipped with the coordination functions necessary to implement those strategies consistently.

The Tazawako & Kakunodate Tourism Association aimed for DMO registration, and this was officially approved in November 2021.

We are proceeding with strengthening our organizational structure to become a profitable region, coordinating not only with tourism-related entities but also with various other industries and the local government. Furthermore, we will continually collect and analyze various data to carry out progressive projects for the development of the tourism region.

We will endeavor to precisely examine and verify the results and challenges of our activities, and strive for the understanding of our local residents.
