Cherry blossom trees in Koya
Branching off from National Route 341, on the way to the Tazawako Plateau, from the area past the Takano village, you will find rows or two of cherry trees stretching out around Sabo Culture Park. In addition to Somei Yoshino, several other varieties, such as Beniyamazakura, have been planted to take advantage of the difference in elevation so that they can be enjoyed for a long period of time. Depending on the direction you look, you will be treated to a magnificent view with Mt. Akita-Komagatake and Lake Tazawa in the background. The best time to see the trees is usually from early to mid-May.
