An experience many of you are looking forward to: Trying out the human-shaped cardboard cutouts.

At the end of the program, participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at cutting, which is what they look forward to the most. Combining the “form” and “concentration” they learned from the master, they will sharpen their minds and cut out a doll model. The exhilaration and sense of accomplishment at the moment of success is something special that cannot be experienced in everyday life.

User Guide

• Target age: 15 (or 16) to 80 years old
• Health conditions: For safety reasons, individuals with back pain, heart disease or other serious illnesses, or those who are pregnant are not permitted to participate.
• Reservations: Reservations are required at least 10 days in advance.
• Language: The primary language is Japanese, but an English interpreter/guide is available as an option.
• Access: Approximately 20 minutes on foot from JR Kakunodate Station. By car, approximately 30 minutes from the Omagari Interchange (parking available).

You can also book an interpreter, so you can rest assured even if you don't speak Japanese.

Even foreigners who don’t speak Japanese can book an interpreter who has repeatedly taught this course and can explain the history of Iaido and the intricate movements. Interpretation is available in English and other languages, so please feel free to inquire. (¥20,000 per group)
