Mr. Sakurada, the owner of ” Kinoshitaya Yoshinari “, was born and raised in Kakunodate .

He is very knowledgeable about Kakunodate and Akita sake. He will teach you about the individuality of each sake brewery, the characteristics of the sake, and ways to drink sake that you may not have thought of.

Sake from breweries in the prefecture will be selected according to season, and you can listen to explanations while tasting them in small sake cups.

In this case, hot sake is the best in winter! So I started off with a cold glass, then tried tasting the same sake at different temperatures.

While there is a recommended temperature range for each type of alcohol, what temperature tastes best actually varies greatly from person to person.

There are also mansions, tea shops, and souvenir shops that you can visit, so we recommend taking a stroll around the area!

The streets lined with samurai residences from that time and black walls make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time.

Based on the materials prepared for this course, we will start by learning about sake, which you may think you know but don’t actually know.

First, we’ll have a tasting quiz about the “brewing water” used to brew sake, and Akita’s tap water! Akita’s water has good taste, so can you tell the difference?

When it comes to pairing sake with snacks, there are no strict rules like there are with wine, so I learned that sake is a very versatile drink.

When drinking at home, you’ll want to explore the temperature and snacks that suit your taste!

Your life with sake is sure to become even more enriched as you learn how to enjoy it with each season and the differences in flavor that come from different sake vessels.
