Semboku City Tourist Information Center "Kakunodate Ekimae-Gura"

This large, storehouse-style tourist information center is located in front of JR Kakunodate Station. It is the white-walled building on the right side after exiting the station.
We will provide directions to the samurai residences, introduce restaurants, hotels, inns, etc. We also have tourist brochures and maps available, and you can watch tourist videos about Akita Prefecture inside the building.

You can rest for free inside the building, so please use it while waiting for your train or bus.

Free rental of rain boots during the winter

During the winter, we offer free rental of rain boots.
Why not try walking along the snowy road without worrying about your footing?
Please speak to a staff member when using the facility.

Baggage storage

Regardless of size, we will accept each piece of baggage for 500 yen .
Please use the coin lockers for small luggage.
Hours of operation: Summer 9:00-17:30, Winter 9:00-17:00

Kakunodate Ekimae-Gura delivers to accommodation facilities within Semboku City .

Delivery is available for 650 yen per item ! Please note that orders close at 12 noon on the day of your stay .
After your hands-free sightseeing, please collect your luggage at your accommodation.
*Baggage will be delivered to each accommodation facility in the evening, but this varies depending on the facility, so please ask the staff.

*The hands-free service is also available at the information center " Folake " located inside Tazawako station .
Please make use of this when staying in Nyuto Onsen, Kogen, Mizusawa, etc.
*The deadline is 12:00, the same as in Kakunodate .
For those heading towards Kakunodate from " Folake ", only " Onsen Yupopo" and "Rose Park Hotel" are available for reservations. (Reception hours are until 9:30.)
* We are unable to ship to any other accommodation facilities in the Kakunodate area.

Free umbrella rental service

Even if it suddenly rains, you can go out for a walk without worry!
They are available at the entrance to the "Ekimae Kura" so please let a member of staff know if you would like to use them.
