Wabi-zakura lying on the rocks of an old mountain - from the poem Shinsen Rokujo - We named our inn "Wabi-zakura" (Wabi Cherry Blossoms) to evoke the universal love of quiet and elegant places. We moved our 200-year-old thatched-roof house to be surrounded by the rolling countryside on our rugged grounds. We are a tranquil inn nestled in the mountains near Kakunodate. We hope you will enjoy your stay and relax to your heart's content.

Wabizakura Main Building Lobby House

The lobby wing is the relocated 200-year-old Minami-Yamato-shiki. It features many furnishings handed down through the Aoyagi family. Please relax in a space that brings together the best of Kakunodate culture and is colored by tradition and aesthetic sense.
