● Opening Ceremony

Date and time: Tuesday, April 15th, 10:00~
Location: Sakuranamiki 2nd Parking Lot (Festival Square) Special Stage

● Light-up ceremony

Date and time: Tuesday, April 15th, 19:00~
Location: Kakunodate Kabazaiku Densyokan Square *A light-up event using power-generating bicycles will be held in conjunction with the lighting ceremony. (Cooperation: Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. Akita Branch)

● Samurai Residence Street (LED light-up)

Date and time: April 15th (Tuesday) to May 6th (Tuesday, national holiday) 17:30-22:00

● Hinokinai River bank (light bulb)

Date and time: April 15th (Tuesday) to May 5th (Monday, national holiday) 17:30-24:00

● Hinokinai River bank downstream of Yokomachi Bridge (LED lighting)

• Those who donate will receive a free cherry blossom sponge (limited quantity)

Traffic Regulation Information (Planned)

● Samurai Residence Street

Contents: Pedestrian precinct (vehicles not allowed)
Dates: April 19th (Sat), 20th (Sun), 26th (Sat), 27th (Sun), 29th (Tue, holiday)
Regulation time: 10:00-16:00
*If you live in the samurai residence district, the festival organizers will distribute parking tickets for nearby parking lots.

● Right bank of the Hinokinai River (Kojo Bridge⇔Yokomachi Bridge)

Details: No entry for vehicles other than residents Dates: April 19th (Sat), 20th (Sun), 26th (Sat), 27th (Sun), 29th (Tue, holiday)
Regulation time: 10:00-16:00
*The Cherry Blossom Festival organizers will distribute passes to those who live on the right bank of the Hinokinai River.

● Uchikawa Bridge ⇔ Ochiai Sports Park

*Depending on the flowering situation, we may operate at night from 16:30 to 22:00.

Medium-sized car ￥1,000
Large vehicles: ￥3,000
*From April 15th (Tue) to 30th (Wed), priority will generally be given to large buses, but depending on the congestion situation, regular cars may be mixed in.

● Bukeyashiki Street Temporary Parking Lot

Business days: Open every day during the period Business hours: 7:30-16:30
*Depending on the flowering situation, we may operate at night from 16:30 to 22:00.
Price: Regular car (including motorcycle) ¥500

● Other free temporary parking lots

Kakunodate Higashi Community Center, Ochiai Sports Park, JA Akita Obako Kakunodate General Branch (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays only)

● About bicycles and motorcycles

<Bicycles> You can park your bicycle in the Sakura-Namiki Paking lot for free, however, when it is crowded you may be asked to use the free temporary parking lot.
<Motorcycle> Please use the temporary parking lot at Buke Yashiki Street. Fee: 500 yen

About on-demand transportation "Yobunoru Kakunodate"

This is a shared transportation service that operates upon customer reservations.
Reservations can be made via the TOHOKU MaaS website or by phone. In the city area and Nakagawa area, there are free boarding and disembarking areas, so you can get on and off wherever you like.
*During the Kakunodate Cherry Blossom Festival, there are some locations where passengers cannot get on or off due to traffic restrictions. Please check here for details.

Regarding use of the Hinokinai River and Tamagawa Riverbank (Kojo Bridge to Ochiai River Park)

• There will be no access restrictions.
• There are no restrictions on eating and drinking.
• Please be mindful of safety when using the facility.
• Please refrain from open flames.

About temporary toilets

In addition to the permanent toilets in the city, temporary toilets will be set up in the following locations between April 15th (Tuesday) and May 5th (Monday, national holiday).

• Sakuranamiki Parking Lot
• JA Akita Obako Kakunodate General Branch Parking Lot
• Near the former site of the Higashi-Shogakucho government office
• Buke Yashiki Street Temporary Parking Lot

For business owners → About opening a food and beverage store

(1) Businesses that do not require a business license under the Food Sanitation Act, such as food trucks and existing stores that have a business license under the Food Sanitation Act, can set up shop on private land within the scope of that license.

(2) If you are applying to set up a temporary store (such as a food stall) in conjunction with an event held on private land, you must obtain permission to operate a store from your local public health center in accordance with the standards set out in the Food Sanitation Act.

(3) However, in both (1) and (2), in places that are subject to restrictions under other laws and regulations, such as traditional preservation districts for groups of traditional buildings and their adjacent areas, it is not possible to open temporary stores as in the past.

Precautions when using drones

[Kakunodate Samurai Residences Street]
Since the area has been designated an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, flying drones is prohibited.

[Hinokinai River bank]
The cherry blossom lined street (from Uchikawa Bridge to Unosaki Bridge) is a nationally designated scenic spot, so flying drones above it is prohibited.
Generally, no notification is required over rivers, but if takeoff or landing is to take off or land at Hinokinaigawa Sakuranamiki Park (also Kojo Park and Ochiai Park), notification is required, so please contact the Urban Planning Section of the Construction Division.

• When the water level of the Hinokinai River rises, it is dangerous, so please do not go near the river.
• By ordinance, smoking and littering are prohibited on the streets of Buke Yashiki Street.
• Smoking is also prohibited on city property, including parking lots.
