Gozaishi is a flat rocky area that looks like a goza on the shore of a lake. It is said that a long time ago, the lord of Akita sat down and took a rest during a tour of Lake Tazawa. The shrine dedicated to Princess Tatsuko, the lake god, is just above.

From JR Tazawako Station, take the Ugo Kotsu Bus "Tazawako Round Line", get off at Goza-no-ishi Shrine, and walk for 1 minute (about 40 minutes)
