In the Middle Ages, the Tozawa clan (later the lords of the Shinjō Domain), who ruled this area, built a residence and a castle town at the northern foot of the mountain, prioritizing military functions in its town planning. Kojōyama, at an altitude of 168 meters, is one of the easily accessible walking courses.
It takes about 20 minutes of leisurely walking from the trailhead to reach the summit.
