Aoyagi Family Samurai House Tells the 400 Year History of Michinoku

In addition to the main building, the 10,000m2 grounds, which are filled with flowers and plants, contain six museums, including an armory and the Kaitai Shinsyo Kinenkan, and also have sword exhibits and local experiences.
There are plenty of Caf?, restaurants and shops to keep you interested. Guided tours of the main building, which is not open to the public, are also popular.

Free helmet and basket experience

You can enjoy a wide variety of free historical experiences. You can also wear armor for a fee.

Akita Local Museum

You can take photos inside the beautiful mansion and stroll around the samurai residence street. Kimono rental is also popular (fee required, reservation required)

Haikarakan

The teahouse located on the Aoyagi family grounds serves popular Nanbancha tea brewed with Shinmei water, as well as matcha green tea.
The first floor is a shop (credit cards and electronic money payments accepted), and the second floor is an antique museum.
