Dakigaeri Autumn Leaves Festival Schedule and Overview

October 10th (Thursday) - November 10th (Sunday), Reiwa

Dakigaeri Valley is known as the Yabakei of Tohoku and is a famous spot for its fresh greenery and autumn leaves.
You can take a leisurely stroll and the view from Kami-no-Iwabashi Bridge is spectacular! It is crowded with many tourists every year.
There are lots of different events during the Autumn Leaves Festival!

▽Event Schedule▽

・Safety prayer ceremony (Shinto ritual)

October 10th (Thursday) 11:00~
Location: In front of the shrine maiden stone at Dakigaeshi Valley

・Performance performance (may be canceled in case of rain)

October 27th (Sunday) at noon ~ Jindai Performing Arts Preservation Society
November 4th (Sunday) 12pm ~ Takahashi Kinuko Company

・Jindai Power Plant Open to the Public

Date: Saturday, October 26th
1st session: 11:00~ / 2nd session: 14:00~
Meeting place: In front of Jindai Power Station (staff will guide you)
Enrollment limit: 10 people per session (first come, first served, some people can join on the day)

5 minutes by car from the Jindai area on National Route 46
15 minutes by taxi from JR Kakunodate station
20 minutes by taxi from JR Tazawako station

From Kakunodate station, take the " Yobunoru Kakunodate " or " Dakigaeri Valley Bus "

From Tazawako station, it is convenient to use the " Dakigaeri-go" bus !


***Notice of traffic restrictions due to construction***

Traffic restrictions will be in place from 9:00 Reiwa on Monday, November 11, 2024 due to construction work on the promenade on the first and second parking lots of the Dakigaeri. Please see below for details. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

<First parking lot side>
Due to construction work near Dakigaeri Shrine, some sections of the promenade will be closed to traffic.
・Visiting Dakigaeri Shrine is possible.
・You cannot cross Kami-no-Iwahashi (suspension bridge). Please access Kami-no-Iwahashi from the second parking lot.

<Second parking lot side>
・Due to construction work on the promenade upstream from the Second Public Toilet, the promenade will be completely closed to traffic.
・The restrictions are scheduled to be lifted in April Reiwa.
・It is possible to cross Kami-no-Iwabashi (suspension bridge).
・Visiting Dakigaeri Shrine is not possible. Please access Dakigaeri Shrine from the First Parking Lot.
