It opened on July 1, 2017 as a base facility to transmit the history and culture of Tazawako , as well as messages to the future.

Kunimasu is an endemic species of Tazawako that used to live only in Tazawako in the world, and became extinct in January 1940 when the acidic water of Tamagawa began to be introduced. In addition to breeding and exhibiting the “miraculous fish Kunimasu,” which was discovered in Lake Saiko, Yamanashi Prefecture in 2010, the history of its extinction in Tazawako and its discovery in Lake Saiko, the fishing gear and dugout canoes of the time, and the lives of people living by the lake. and environmental changes, the biology of kunimasu, etc., are explained with numerous panels and videos.
