Sasara Mai of Kakunodate

角館のささら舞

[Date: August 15th every year]

Sasara, which tells the history of more than 400 years, is the name of the lion dance in this region.
It is called "Sasara Mai" because it dances while playing a wooden musical instrument called "Sasara". It started 400 years ago when Mr. Satake took the lead in the procession to disperse evil spirits. I will.
Today, it is danced as an Obon festival to wish for good harvest and no illness.
