Tazawako Area

Centered around Lake Tazawa—the deepest lake in Japan with its striking sapphire-blue waters—this area is rich in nature and offers various hot spring villages. Visitors can enjoy seasonal activities, secluded hot springs, and breathtaking scenic spots throughout the year.

Nishiki Area

A simple and welcoming area with rural landscapes reminiscent of Japan’s traditional scenery. Visitors can enjoy farm experiences, seasonal cultural events, and local traditions. A journey on the Akita Nairiku Line is also highly recommended.

The interior of our symbolic brick storehouse is open to the public free of charge, and in the Bunkogura inside the store, you can sample our prided miso, soy sauce, and pickles.

Traces of the castle town still remain It was the Ashina clan who created the townscape of Kakunodate that continues to this day in 1620 (Genwa 6), at the beginning of the Edo period. After that, it flourished as a castle town for the Satake clan. The city area developed along the Tamagawa and Hinokinaigawa rivers, and surrounded by mountains on three sides, this town is a tourist attraction with a charm that is truly worthy of being called "Little Kyoto of the Michinoku region," with its beautiful historic samurai residences and rows of cherry blossom trees.
