What is Lake Tazawa?
Lake Tazawa is an almost circular lake with a circumference of 20 km, and boasts the deepest water depth of 432.4 m in Japan, with an area of 25.5 km. The lake water is beautiful with a mysterious lapis lazuli color, befitting the legend of Tatsuko. The expressions of each of the four seasons are rich, with the faint light of spring shining on the surface of the lake, and the deep green and blue of the sky wrapping the surface of the lake in summer. In autumn, the autumnal trees shine on the surface of the lake, and in winter, the contrast between the white snow and the surface of the lake is impressive. The sunrise and sunset are also wonderful, especially in the quiet mornings the lake surface becomes like a mirror, and especially in the quiet mornings the lake surface becomes like a mirror and reflects the sunrise dazzlingly.
